Torii
Also called torī
The gateway of a Shintō precinct: two posts, a tie beam (nuki) and a top lintel (kasagi). The straight shinmei type and the curved myōjin type are the two main families.

Rules that use the word
Two families of torii. Build the shinmei torii with a straight lintel, upright posts and a tie beam that does not project; build the myōjin torii with an upcurved double lintel, posts leaning slightly inward, and a tie beam that passes through them.
