Dom-ino frame
Le Corbusier’s 1914 diagram: three flat concrete slabs on six columns and a stair, the skeleton that frees the plan and the façade.
The rules it illustrates
The Dom-ino frame. Build the house as a standard skeleton of flat concrete slabs, a few columns set back from the slab edges, and a stair; everything else (walls, windows, partitions) is infill that can be placed freely.
Where it appears in the book
In the styles Modernism.
In the chapters Frame and Skin.
