Rules that use the word

Coffers that diminish towards the lantern. Divide the inside of a dome into coffers that shrink in step with the meridians as they rise, so that their perspective deepens the dome and draws the eye to the light of the lantern.

Two shells tied by ribs. Build a great dome as two shells (a thick inner one that carries, a thin outer one that protects and gives the silhouette) joined by ribs and locked at the top by a ring under the lantern.

Where it appears in the book

In the chapters Renaissance and Baroque.

A feature of Japanese garden, Renaissance, Baroque, Art Deco architecture.
